Continuing its commitment to nurturing and developing young talent in the creative arts, Clothes Show London, with its new residency at Earls Court, organised a competition to find the Young Accessory Designer of the Year in partnership with The Fashion and Textile Museum (FTM). The competition was open to aspiring designers who have been trading for less than three years providing a platform for young designers and their businesses in this highly competitive industry.
FTM & Clothes Show London challenged students to design an accessory product that encompasses the FTM’s brand values and is suitable for sale in the FTM’s shop (Shop@FTM) and the FTM’s online boutique. The winner also receives:
- Six months business support with industry advisors
- Winning design displayed at Clothes Show London
- Chance to see accessory launched and sold in the Shop@FTM
- Invitation to the Private View of the forthcoming Horrockses Fashion exhibition at the FTM
- Offered a place on the FTM’s professional CAD short course
All entries were judged by FTM’s Commercial Director, Alison Lewy and Managing Director of Clothes Show London, Gavin Brown. The winner was announced on the Style Stage on Sunday 27th June at 4.15pm.
